Buy a cow, goat, or cook stove -- Just for fun!
We asked a number of our local Gnu partners for a “Wish List” of items that could be purchased with a small amount of money and would have the greatest impact. Social workers reported back that most of the children they visited on a regular basis lacked some very basic items at home such as blankets, beds, school shoes, and school reference books among many other items that complement their education.
The wish list below is compiled from our Kenya-based Gnu Partners: WWN (Children of Strength) orphan care program; Rays of Hope Health Clinic; Community of Hope orphan care program; and the DISC Initiatives community empowerment program who noted that the guardians and caretakers of the children could benefit from basic 'gifts’ of chickens, rabbits, goats and cows to supplement their food and to provide a source of income.
As you consider your all-occasion gift giving, please think of the many families that would be blessed by your gift. Or give a gift in the name of someone as an alternative to your normal gifting.
Your gift will include a personalized acknowledgement card from Gnu Foundation with every donation.
